Andersen - Biography
Hans Christian Andersen (April 2, 1805 - August 4, 1875), Danish writer and poet. Andersen is famous for his fairy tales, which are full of humanistic and philosophical ideas; his famous fairy tales include "The Snow Queen", "Thumbelina", "The Little Match Girl", "The Ugly Duckling" and "The King's New Clothes". Andersen received royal tributes during his lifetime and was highly praised for bringing joy to a generation of children across Europe. His works have been translated into more than 125 languages, and thousands of fairy tale books have been published around the world. His fairy tales have also inspired numerous films, stage plays, ballets and animations.

Artwork requirements:
Painting theme: Fairy tales, dreams (themes can be drawn from Andersen’s fairy tales)
Types of works: watercolor, gouache, ink painting, oil painting, crayon drawing, sketch, cartoon, printmaking, comic, comprehensive painting, collage, etc.
Size: no limit
Grading criteria:
Drawing skills: 25%
Coloring skills: 25%
Storytelling of the painting: 25%

How to submit your work:

4) Art work topic name (within 8 words in Chinese or 5 words in English)

The registration fee includes the award and certificate of the preliminary round

As a group (5 students or more):

You can register first and then submit your work by email before the deadline.
Method 2: After registering as a member on this website, contact us to set up a group membership, and click "Register Now" on the website
Fill in the English name and the year of birth of the participating student in the remarks column, and click Submit. For group registration methods, you can view the registration guidelines.

Awards arrangement of the preliminary round:
Individual awards:
Each category has one champion, one 1st runner-up and 2nd runner-up. The winners will receive trophies and certificates.
The remaining works are divided into three categories, with gold medals (10%), silver medals (30%) and bronze medals (60%) in each category. The winners will receive medals and certificates.
There is no additional application for awards and certificates and no additional charges. Each competition is sent independently.
Group Award:
Outstanding Leadership Award: Lead 15 students to participate and receive a trophy and certificate of commendation with the group name printed on it.
Excellent Tutor Award: Lead 5 students to participate and receive a certificate of commendation
Certificate shipping arrangements:
There will be approximately one week after the announcement for all contestants to check their names. If changes are needed, they can be notified and changed free of charge within the time limit. Any subsequent changes will incur handling fees after the period.
The certificate (printed with the participant's name) and trophy or medal (without name engraving) will be sent to the address provided on the registration form (posted from Hong Kong) by SF Express collect freight approximately 10-14 weeks after the announcement date.

Outstanding works in the first stage will be invited to participate in the Andersen (International) Art Exhibition in the second stage.

The exhibition was founded in Odense, Denmark by the Danish H.C. Andersen Culture & Art Committee and co-organized by the Danish H.C. Andersen Samfundet Copenhagen. It commemorates Andersen's achievements in culture and art. , a high-level international annual art exhibition set up to commend international artistic creation.
